Complex Purchase or Overpaid Tax?
I Solve Stamp Duty Issues.
Conveyancers often avoid complex land tax issues.
I bridge that gap—navigating the rules to ensure you pay the lowest amount of tax possible for your specific circumstances.
Buying a property?
Get specialist SDLT and land tax clarity before you commit.
Conveyancers are cautious when transactions fall outside the standard rules.
If your purchase involves anything unusual — mixed-use land, multiple dwellings, linked transactions, trusts, separation, or properties that are not straightforward dwellings — guessing can be expensive.
Get specialist clarity first.
1. Start here: Free written assessment
Unsure what SDLT, LTT or LBTT actually applies to your transaction?
Email your circumstances to [email protected]
for a free written assessment.
I will explain your legal position clearly, with reference to the relevant legislation, so you (and your conveyancer) understand the correct treatment. More information here: landtaxadvice.co.uk/pi-advice
2. Where needed: Professionally indemnified protection
If your conveyancer requires a formal, insured opinion, two fixed-fee options are available:
- ✅
Option A: Indemnified Letter of Advice.
Your solicitor remains responsible for filing, but can rely on my professionally indemnified written advice as support for the SDLT/LTT/LBTT treatment adopted.
- ✅
Option B: Independent submission.
If you prefer not to rely on your conveyancer, you receive my advice and Compass SDLT acts as your appointed tax agent to submit the return directly to HMRC.
Already Paid Land Tax?
Reclaim Cases: No Win, No Fee.
I manage the claim from start to finish. The refund is paid directly to you by HMRC, the Welsh Revenue Authority, or Revenue Scotland.
You only settle my fee once the funds are safely in your account.
1. Contact Me
Start the conversation.
Simply email or call me about your claim. We will discuss your circumstances to see if a refund is possible.
2. Claim Evidence
Show us your proofs.
Send us pictures, videos, or documents. We assess everything for free and give you an honest opinion on the strength of your case.
3. We Prepare
Strictly ‘No Win, No Fee’.
If you are happy to proceed, we prepare the technical file and legal arguments. We take on the risk—if we don’t win, you don’t pay.
4. Send to HMRC
Refund First, Fee Later.
We submit the claim. Refunds typically arrive in 6 to 9 weeks. You only pay our fees if and when your reclaim is successful.
“We have secured successful payouts on nearly 500 reclaim cases. Our consultants, condition assessors, and administrators diligently work to make sure your case is meticulously prepared and robust.”
